Originally the rectory of the Temple of Saint Peter the Apostle, it served as a communal gathering place where peasants met to resolve their agrarian issues. It houses a rich collection of historical objects and works of art that chronicle the Purépecha agrarian struggle and resistance in Michoacán, including documents, engravings, and murals that tell the stories of important figures such as José María Morelos, Emiliano Zapata, and Lázaro Cárdenas.
